Garrett

Garrett enlisted in the Army in July 2009. After initial training and completion of the 2-year Special Forces pipeline, he was assigned to 5th Special Forces Group in 2012. During his time on a Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA), Garrett deployed to multiple countries in the Middle East. He has trained and advised a variety of host nation special operations forces, including the Lebanese Navy SEALS and Afghanistan’s 5th Commando Kandak. His ODA, along with their Afghan Commando partner force engaged in numerous direct action missions throughout northern Afghanistan in 2013.

Currently, Garrett is assigned to the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, where he is an instructor at the Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance, Target Analysis and Exploitation Techniques Course (SFARTAETC). As a SFARTAETC instructor, Garrett is responsible for teaching advanced CQB, breaching, and combatives to Green Berets serving in their individual Special Forces Group’s direct action company.

Garrett has attended the following military courses: The Special Forces Qualification Course; Army Basic Airborne Course; Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) School; the Special Forces Sniper Course (SFSC); and SFARTAETC. His awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and Special Forces Tab.
