Peter Kinyoun

After completing a B.A. in History and US Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (OCS), Peter was commissioned an active duty Second Lieutenant in 2008, and has since pursued two military occupational specialties as a Communications Officer (0602) and Foreign Security Forces Advisor (0570).  As a Lieutenant, he deployed to combat operations in southern Helmand Province, Afghanistan with 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion from Oct 2010 – May 2011 as a Platoon Commander and from Mar – Oct 2012 as the Operations Officer for an embedded police advisor team.  Subsequently, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and selected as the Executive Officer to the Marine Corps Embassy Security Program from Oct 2012 – Dec 2015, where he was responsible for overseeing training and security at high-threat embassies and consulates in South America.

Peter’s training & experience includes:  Rifle Platoon Commander’s Course, Basic Communications Officer Course, Foreign Security Forces Advisor Course, Range Safety Officer Certified – DOD & Bureau of DSS, Counter-IED & CMD Employment, Security Operations and Anti-Terrorism Measures, Patrolling & Land Navigation, Foreign Weapons Training, Combat Lifesaver Certified, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT), Evidence Processing & Detainee Handling, and Close Quarters Battle (CQB).
